2018 ADA Sidewalk Improvement Project

This project consists of the reconstruction of related sidewalk ramps at intersections on Lincoln Avenue, Ridge Road, and Hugo Court. The project will account for any structures already in place.

North Ardmore Avenue Retaining Wall Project

This project consists of removal and installation of 52.5 feet of retaining wall along the northeast side of Ardmore Avenue Frontage road. The scope of work for the project includes removing and replacing existing curb and gutter, 2 foot wide resurfacing of the adjacent pavement, removal of trees in conflict, and clearing and restoring the parkway behind the retaining wall.

Ardmore Avenue Streetscape Project

To enhance the walkability, driveability, and aesthetic quality of the North Ardmore Avenue corridor.

A rejuvenating agents known as “Reclamite” is applied to the surface of previously resurfaced or reconstructed asphalt pavements. Reclamite is a liquid that is applied to the newer and/or less porous pavement surfaces.

Astor, Myrtle, and Euclid Improvement Project

This project consists of the reconstruction of Astor Court from Summit Avenue to Myrtle Avenue and Myrtle Avenue from Park to Highland, and includes storm sewer construction. Some selective water system and sanitary sewer system improvements are also included.

Biermann Avenue Sewer Separation Project

This project consists of the rehabilitation of North Biermann Avenue from North Avenue to Sunset Drive by means of selected pavement rehabilitation methods. The project also includes replacement of the existing 6" water main. Some selective sanitary sewer systems improvements are also included.

Bike Rack Upgrades

Central Boulevard Improvement Project

This project consists of the rehabilitation of East Central Boulevard from Cornell Avenue to Villa Avenue and South Myrtle Avenue from Kenilworth Street to Central Boulevard, and Cortesi Avenue from Kenilworth Street to Central Boulevard. The project includes combined sewer separation. Some selective water system and sanitary sewer system improvements are also included.

Charles Avenue Improvement Project

This project consists of the reconstruction of North Charles Avenue from St. Charles Road to Oak Street. The project includes combined sewer separation. The project also includes replacement of the existing 4'' water main. Some selective sanitary sewer system improvements are also included.

2015 Concrete Street Improvement Program

This project consists of improvements on various streets in the Village of Villa Park. The total length of the improvements is approximately 5,600 lineal feet. The scope of work includes Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement, Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement patching, Portland cement concrete (PCC) surface diamond grinding, combination concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement, structure adjustments, pavement markings, and other related and incidental work efforts.

Cornell Pumping Station Generator Replacement

This project consists of the removal of the old diesel powered emergency generator at the South Cornell Pumping Station and its replacement with a new, natural gas powered emergency generator.

2019 Crack Sealing Program

The program consists of the filling and resealing of damaged asphalt pavements throughout the Village in order to extend the projected life of the roadway. The program is combined with other local towns as part of a singular contract, and is being bid by the Village of Woodridge.

546 South Euclid Avenue Property Buyout

This project consists of the purchase and demolition of the single-family residence at 546 South Euclid Avenue.

Flood Control Study

The Village hired three engineering consultant companies to study the whole of Villa Park in an effort to create a plan to reduce the amount of flooding for residents.

Harvard Avenue (Jefferson Park to Plymouth)

This project consists of improvements on North Harvard Avenue from Jefferson Park to Plymouth Street. The project consists of installing approximately 1,800 linear feet of 8” water main, including fire hydrants, valves and water services. The project also includes pavement removal, aggregate base course, Hot-Mix Asphalt Binder Course, Hot-Mix Asphalt Surface Course, curb and gutter installation, sidewalk removal and replacement, driveway pavement removal and replacement, adjusting sanitary services, storm sewer removal and replacement and parkway restoration.

Harvard Avenue Pavement Widening

This project consists of the widening of the pavement on North Harvard Avenue from Armitage Avenue to the south dead end. The existing pavement is located in the west half of the right-of-way and is in the Village of Addison. This project would provide for the construction of several feet of additional pavement in the east half of the right-of-way in the Village of Villa Park. Construction would be completed in cooperation with the Village of Addison, and would be coordinated with the resurfacing of their portion of the roadway.

High Ridge Road Resurfacing Project

This project consists of the resurfacing of High Ridge Road from Ardmore Avenue to the west Village limits.

2020 Home Avenue Water Tower Painting

2016 Home Avenue Water Tower Grounding Project

This project consists of the installation of electrical grounding equipment on and adjacent to the water tower located at 11 West Home Avenue. The project also includes other related work, including earthwork and grading, removal and replacement of chain line fence, installation of a concrete spill pad, and placement of topsoil and sod.

Iowa and Vermont

This project consists of pavement improvements and water main replacement on North Iowa Avenue from Vermont to Plymouth and water main replacement on West Vermont Street from Iowa to Wisconsin.

Joint Bidding Program 2014

The Village is participating in a number of joint bidding programs this year including Sidewalk Removal and Replacement, Pavement Crack Filling, and Pavement Patching and Resurfacing.

Kenilworth Park Improvements Project

This project consists of HMA surface removal and replacement with select curb replacement in the Kenilworth Park horseshoe (Cortesi and Myrtle).

Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) and (CMOM)

To enhance the walkability, driveability, and aesthetic quality of the North Ardmore Avenue corridor.

Lufkin Pool Demolition

This project consists of the demolition and removal of the Lufkin Pool Complex.

Maple Area Improvement Project

This project consists of road pavement reconstruction of areas of Maple, Pine, Oak, Myrtle, Summit, and Division and the separation of any combined sewers located in those areas. The sanitary sewer separation and related work for Maple Area Improvement Project were financed by the Water Pollution Control Loan Program (WPCLP) State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Michigan Avenue (Kenilworth to Central)

This project consists of pavement improvements on South Michigan Avenue from Central Boulevard to Kenilworth Avenue and the separation of the existing combined sewer main.

Michigan and Vermont

This project consists of water main replacement and street improvements on North Michigan Avenue and West Vermont Street.

South Michigan Avenue (Park to Madison)

This project consists of the reconstruction of Michigan Avenue from Park Boulevard to Madison Street and the installation of storm sewers. Selective replacement of water mains and sanitary sewer mains is included.

South Monterey Culvert Replacement Project

This project consists of ditch re-grading, culvert pipe and approach removal and replacement in public right-of-way on South Monterey Avenue between Washington Boulevard and Madison Street.

2018 South Monterey Stormwater Quality Project

The installation of multiple bio-retention systems within the existing drainage ditch area on South Monterey Avenue between Washington Boulevard and Madison Street.

2015 South Monterey Stormwater Quality Project

To alleviate drainage issues and increase the quality of stormwater runoff throughout the Village.

Northwest Area Sewer Rehabilitation Program

To significantly improve the condition of selected sanitary sewer mains throughout the Village.

North Avenue Townhomes Lift Station

This project consists of replacing the Lift Station that services the North Avenue Townhomes due to recent and frequent failures.

North Side Sidewalk Project

To increase pedestrian safety and provide better access to residences and businesses on the north side of the Village.

East Park Boulevard Improvement Project

This project consists of the complete reconstruction of East Park Boulevard from Villa Avenue to the east dead end.

Parking Lots Resurfacing

This project consists of pavement improvements at two Village parking lots: the Community Development parking lot at 325 East North Avenue (approximately 1,150 square yards); and the Fire Station #2 parking lot at 102 West Plymouth Street (approximately 900 square yards).

2024 Pavement Markings Program

This project consists of the removal of worn pavement markings and their replacement with fresh markings at various locations within the village.

The Village will be reapplying worn out pavement markings to various streets and intersections throughout Villa Park.

Plymouth Street Improvement Project

This project consists of improving Plymouth Street from Ardmore Avenue to Villa Avenue in the Village of Villa Park which includes hot-mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing and HMA pavement reconstruction. The total length of improvements is 2,594 feet (0.49 mile). The pavement resurfacing areas will consist of 2” of HMA surface course and ¾” of polymerized leveling binder. These resurfacing areas will also have pavement patching and spot curb and gutter replacement based on field conditions. In addition, there will be sidewalk replacement at intersections to meet the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG), driveway reconstruction, drainage and utility improvements, pavement markings, signing, erosion & sediment control, and landscaping.

Princeton Avenue Improvement Project

The Project consists of the removal of approximately 800 feet of combined sewer and its replacement with separated storm and sanitary sewers, the replacement of approximately 110 feet of water main, and the complete reconstruction of the road pavement.

North Princeton Water Main Improvement Project

This project consists of the replacement of the existing water main on North Princeton Avenue from Terrace Street to Ridge Road in the Village of Villa Park with approximately 1,200 lineal feet of new eight inch (8)” ductile iron water main. The project also includes the installation of new valves and valve vaults, fire hydrant assemblies, water services, and all necessary restoration and related work.

2023 Rebuild Illinois Resurfacing

This project consists of the resurfacing of various streets throughout the village, as well as intermittent curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk curb ramp upgrades to current ADA standards, pavement patching, drainage and utility structure adjustments or reconstructions, landscaping restoration, and pavement markings.

2022 Rebuild IL Resurfacing Project

This project consists of the resurfacing of various streets throughout the village.

Ridge Road Water Main Improvement Project

This project consists of the rehabilitation of Ridge Road from Yale to Ardmore. The project also includes replacement of the existing water main. The water main improvements are budgeted as part of IEPA Water Loan Group #3. Some selective sanitary sewer system improvements are included.

Roosevelt Road at Ardmore Avenue Widening

This project consists of the widening of Roosevelt Road and Ardmore Avenue (Right Turn Lanes).

Roosevelt Road - Summit to IL 83

This project consists of the widening and resurfacing of Roosevelt Road from Summit Avenue to IL Route 83 and a traffic signal installation.

Route 83 Lift Station

This Project consists of the replacement of as existing sanitary lift station including demolition of various surface amenities including the tops of the existing wet well as well as the associated piping and pumps to 20 feet below grade, replacing with submersible pumps, electronic controls, and piping; tying into the existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and all other modifications necessary to have a fully operating lift station.

Second Avenue Combined Sewer Separation Project

This project consists of the separation of the existing combined sewer main on North Second Avenue from Holly Court to Division Street.

2019 Sewer Rehabilitation Program

The Village has identified areas of the sewer network that are in need of rehabilitation. The rehabilitation efforts will reduce the inflow and infiltration (I/I) of both stormwater and debris into the sanitary sewer system, thus lessening both the frequency and severity of sewer surcharges and sewer backups. The life of the existing sewer will also be extended.

2024 Sidewalk Program (50/50 Program)

This project consists of mainline public sidewalk removal and replacement.

2015 Sidewalk Improvement Program

This program consists of sidewalk removal, driveway pavement removal, combination curb and gutter removal, new Portland cement concrete sidewalk, new Portland cement concrete driveway pavement, new combination concrete curb and gutter, and detectable warnings; as well as other work included in those efforts, including sawcutting, excavation, installation of aggregate base, protection and restoration of adjacent areas, and all other necessary related and incidental work, at various locations within the Village of Villa Park, DuPage County, Illinois.

St. Charles Road Bridge Improvement Project

This project consists of repairs to the St. Charles Road bridge in order to maintain its safety.

South Summit Avenue Resurfacing Project

This project consists of the resurfacing of the portions of South Summit Avenue from Madison to Roosevelt located in the Village of Villa Park.

2015 Street Resurfacing Project

This project is a general maintenance project and the work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to HMA asphalt surface removal, PCC Surface Removal, resurfacing with leveling binder and HMA surface courses, combination curb and gutter removal and replacement, pavement patching, drainage structure adjustments, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as described herein.

This project consists of the construction of a new multi-use trail connecting the three existing regional trails that converge in the vicinity of the South Villa Business District-- the Illinois Prairie Path, the Great Western Trail, and the Salt Creek Greenway Trail.

This project consists of the rehabilitation of various streets by means of various pavement rehabilitation methods.

Van Buren (Ardmore to Cornell)

This project consists of the reconstruction of Van Buren Street from Ardmore Avenue to Cornell Avenue.

Washington Street Green Infrastructure Improvement

This project consists of green stormwater infrastructure improvements at four proposed locations: Grant Avenue from Washington Street to the south end; Washington Street between Illinois Avenue and Summit Avenue; Euclid Avenue north of Washington Street; and the vicinity of Washington Street and Addison Avenue. Proposed improvements include permeable pavers (Grant), bio-retention areas, rain gardens, perforated drains, and a naturalized detention area (Euclid).

This project consists of the rehabilitation of North Wisconsin Avenue from Vermont Street to Ridge Road by means of selected pavement rehabilitation methods.
