Fire Department Hosts Community Open House on Saturday, October 14
The Villa Park Fire Department is inviting residents to attend and enjoy its community open house on Saturday, October 14, from noon to 3:00 pm. This event will be held at Fire Station 81, 1440 S. Ardmore Ave in support of National Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 8 to 14, 2023.

The open house is a fun and free family event where you can meet your own Villa Park Firefighters and Paramedics. There will be family-oriented activities, demonstrations, food, as well as opportunities to take a closer look at the Fire Department behind the scenes with a tour of the firehouse.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme, “Cooking safety starts with YOU: Pay attention to fire prevention” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take when cooking to keep themselves and those around them safe. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), cooking is the leading cause of home fires and home fire injuries in the United States. Unattended cooking is the leading cause of cooking-related fires and deaths. The good news is you can prevent most cooking fires and burns with these simple but effective tips.
